Level descriptors reflect the strand specific enduring understandings by describing key knowledge, understanding and learning processes aligned to levels of learning achievement.

They explain the content to be taught and promote engagement in analysis, synthesis and evaluation.

Achievement standards indicate the quality of learning (the extent of knowledge, the depth of understanding and the sophistication of skills) students should typically demonstrate by a particular point in their schooling.

Strand: Christian Ethics – Personal and Social
Christians believe that each person is unique, created in the image and growing in likeness of God, with responsibilities to the other. CEFE1	Identify and describe ways in which Christians express love for God, self, others and creation.	Recognise Christians believe that identity is imaged in God, identifying and describing actions that support this recognition.
Strand: Church and Tradition
The Church community gathers in many places and ways to celebrate faith and share God’s love. CTFE1	Explore various prayer gatherings as expressions and celebrations of being Church.	Identify and explain ways that belonging to a Catholic school includes being connected to a Church community.
Strand: God, Religion and Society
People have different ways of identifying meaning for their life. People who encounter the sacred express this in different ways. GRSFE1	Explore what brings meaning to people’s lives and describe how people who encounter the sacred give this expression.	Recognise ways the sacred is expressed in peoples lives.
Christianity has its roots in Judaism. GRSFE2	Investigate the practices and teachings of Jesus as they are linked with his Jewish heritage.	Connect Jesus to the Jewish faith through his words, actions and heritage.

The Bible is a collection of books, with multiple authors that teaches about God's love, the life of Jesus and the call to love. SIJFE1	Explore and respond to Scripture that teaches about God’s love, the life of Jesus and the call to love.	Recall Scripture stories and interpret how they show God’s love.
Scripture is interpreted in the light of the author, place, purpose and time it was written. SIJFE2	Explore the Bible as a collection of sacred stories written for different times, people, places and purposes.	Identify and describe some pieces of scripture.
