Strand: Scripture, Israel and Jesus (SIJL5-6E2)

Levels 5 and 6

Through his life, death and resurrection, Jesus reveals the saving love of God and gives hope to the world.

Imagine and explain how the Christian faith through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus might give hope to the world.

Elaborations

The Paschal Mystery refers to the fact of Christ’s Passion, Death and Resurrection and Scripture provides the faithful with the events of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection. For Christians, the life journey, with its challenging and joyous moments is where the mystery of Christ is to be discovered, particularly in loss, death and renewal. For the person of faith, the life, death and resurrection of Jesus is therefore mirrored in daily life. Through the experiences of new beginnings, endings, and going forward in life the person of faith can encounter this hope in their daily life.

Examples in Scripture include but are not limited to:

Scripture references on Jesus life, death and resurrection; Luke Chapters 1-2, 9
Mark Chapters 14-16 John Chapters 13- 21 Matthew 20: 1-16.
