Elaborations

The Second Vatican Council stated that all peoples with their various religious traditions form a single community (see Declaration on the Relationship of The Church to NonChristian Religions). The Church respects the spiritual, moral and cultural values of other religions.

There are many different Christian communities in the world today. Ecumenism is an attempt on the part of members of Christian communities to come together to share their understanding of the Christian message. Other Christian communities include Anglicanism, Lutheranism and the Uniting Church in Australia.
